The seventh edition of the International Competition for young violinists “Vasco Abadjiev”, organized by the “Club UNESCO Leonardo da Vinci – Sofia” from November 16th to 19th, 2023, sent four virtuosos from Bulgaria, Serbia, Japan and Italy to the final.

Jovana Udovic and Stefan Hubenov deservedly shared the first prize of the competition – a precedent so far, and after the undisputed assessment of the International Jury: Prof. Janna Gandelman, Prof. Ksenia Milas, Prof. Stefan Kamilarov, Prof. Yossif Radionov and Stefan Iliev.

Stefan Hubenov from Bulgaria also received a special Diploma for Brilliant Performance of a work from Petar Hristoskov – “Rural Rhapsody”.

Second prize was awarded to Natsuki Gunji from Japan. She also received a Diploma of High Achievement in Violin Performance for Faust Fantasia by Henrik Wieniawski.

Third prize was awarded to the 15-years-old promising virtuoso from Italy, Nicola Cicchino, who also received the Special “Young Talent” award.

The Gala Concert, in which a symphony orchestra gathered under the lead of prof. Grigor Palikarov, gave the laureates the perfect opportunity to show the highest class, became a natural culmination of this, perhaps the best edition of the “Vasco Abadjiev” Competition.
