Prof. Stefan Kamilarov
After studying violin in Vienna and Stockholm, Stefan Kamilarov performs internationally as a soloist and chamber musician. In addition to his intensive concert activity he studied conducting with Othmar Suitner at the Academy of Music in Vienna, Austria and with Franco Ferrara in Assisi, Italy. For twenty years he was permanently playing in the Vienna State Opera Orchestra and the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra. Since 1990 Stefan Kamilarov is first violin of the Kamilarov Quartet. Active in international concert life with this ensemble, as soloist and as chamber musician.
Through his versatile musical education and many years of podium experience combined with active pedagogical interests, he is an internationally recognized violin teacher. Stefan Kamilarov has taught violin at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna since 1988 and is lecturer at international master classes in Austria, Sweden, Finland, Bulgaria, Italy, Portugal, Serbia and Montenegro.
